About the Role

The Business Analyst (BA) serves as a critical link between business stakeholders and technical teams. At Puma Energy, the Business Analyst will work across multiple functions to identify business problems, evaluate processes, gather requirements, and support the delivery of solutions that align with organisational objectives.

This role requires strong analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will help improve business performance by enabling data-driven decisions, optimising processes, and supporting project execution from analysis through implementation.


Key Responsibilities

Business Problem Identification and Analysis

  • Identify, define, and analyse business problems affecting operational efficiency and performance.

  • Conduct root cause analysis to understand underlying issues and assess their impact on the organisation.

  • Evaluate risks, dependencies, and opportunities associated with business challenges.

Solution Development and Evaluation

  • Develop and propose business and technical solutions to address identified problems.

  • Assess solution feasibility by considering cost, benefits, timelines, and implementation constraints.

  • Collaborate with technical and operational teams to ensure proposed solutions are practical and aligned with business goals.

Requirements Gathering and Documentation

  • Gather business requirements through stakeholder discussions, workshops, and process reviews.

  • Document requirements clearly and concisely in formats such as BRDs, functional specifications, and process flows.

  • Ensure requirements are complete, traceable, and aligned with project scope and objectives.

Stakeholder Communication and Coordination

  • Act as a primary point of contact between business users, technical teams, vendors, and management.

  • Communicate requirements, project updates, and outcomes clearly to all stakeholders.

  • Manage stakeholder expectations and facilitate alignment across teams with differing priorities.

Project Support and Delivery

  • Support the implementation of approved solutions by coordinating with project managers and delivery teams.

  • Monitor project progress, track milestones, and highlight potential risks or issues.

  • Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT), change management activities, and post-implementation reviews.

Process Improvement and Continuous Optimization

  • Analyse existing business processes to identify inefficiencies, gaps, and improvement opportunities.

  • Recommend process enhancements, standardisation, and automation initiatives.

  • Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance effectiveness, efficiency, and business outcomes.
