Cloudflare Careers: Data Engineer – Internal Audit & Risk Engineering

We are now expanding our Internal Audit (IA) organisation in Bengaluru by building a dedicated Risk & Controls Engineering capability.

We are looking for a Data Engineer to report to our Senior Director of Cybersecurity and Technology Audit. You will be a critical architect in our global strategy to use AI, automation, and continuous auditing to provide real-time assurance over our global network and business operations.

 About the Role: Engineering Real-Time Audit Solutions

As a Data Engineer within the IA department, you will bridge the gap between traditional auditing and advanced data science. You will move the company toward a more quantitative, real-time measure of risk.

Key Responsibilities:

• AI & Automation Strategy: Design and implement AI-driven solutions to automate SOX, risk, and audit projects.

• Continuous Auditing: Architect dashboards and real-time metrics that provide business insight on a proactive basis.

• Data Champion: Serve as the internal lead to elevate data literacy within the audit team and identify new uses for analytics in risk management.

• Full Data Lifecycle: Own the process from data acquisition and cleansing to scripting (Python/R) and reporting.

• Stakeholder Partnership: Build relationships with global data owners to enable timely access to critical organizational data.

Qualifications & Desirable Skills

We are looking for a technical professional with a deep understanding of the audit lifecycle and the energy to broaden their subject matter expertise.

Required Experience:

• Years of Experience: 6+ years in data analytics techniques (automation, data-driven control testing) within audit or enterprise risk.

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or MIS.

• Technical Stack: Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL.

• Certifications: Preference for CISA, CPA, CISSP, or cloud-specific data certifications (AWS Certified Data Analyst, Google Cloud Certified).

• Visualisation: Hands-on experience with Tableau to present thematic observations to executive leaders.
