💡 About the Role
As an SDE at Amazon Kindle, you will design, develop, integrate, test, and support C++-based software for Kindle E-Readers and mobile applications. Your work will directly improve the reading experience across a wide range of devices, formats, and genres.
This role requires deep technical expertise, innovation, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment with product owners, designers, and engineering peers.
🧩 Key Responsibilities
Software Architecture & Development

Design and develop high-performance features for Kindle E-Reader and Mobile Apps

Build reusable components, utilities, and subsystems

Enhance compatibility across software modules
Technical Leadership

Prepare requirement specs and design documents

Enforce best engineering practices and high-quality coding standards

Contribute to scalable, secure, and reliable system architecture
Graphics & UI Rendering

Understand graphics subsystems and internals

Work on adaptive UI/UX for upcoming Kindle devices
Deployment & Operational Excellence

Review and ship C++, React Native, or Java code

Monitor CI/CD pipelines, dashboards, and stability metrics

Root-cause production issues and propose long-term fixes
Collaboration

Work with UX designers, product owners, and partner engineering teams

Train new team members on Kindle software architecture

🧠 Basic Qualifications

3+ years of professional software development experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
