About the Role:
A leading alternative asset manager with over $30B in Assets Under Management (AUM) is seeking a skilled Python Application Developer to join their New York team. This is a unique opportunity to work on high-impact projects for the front office, drive application migrations to the cloud, and build scalable systems for a global financial services leader.
Key Responsibilities:

Execute the full life cycle of system development projects using Agile/Scrum methodology.

Manage a portfolio of projects for front office applications and cloud migration.

Develop, enhance, and maintain core applications used by portfolio managers and traders.

Assist in designing the next generation of application architecture.

Gather requirements from end users and transform them into high-performing technical solutions.

Boost efficiency, code quality, and ensure strong testing practices.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

5+ years of software development experience in a financial services company (asset management preferred).

Strong knowledge of at least one asset class (Fixed Income, Commodities, or Credit).

Proven expertise in developing large-scale Python applications (Python/Django and libraries).

Hands-on experience with PyTest, DocTest, Nose Tests for framework design and testing.

Strong SQL skills (queries, stored procedures, tables, and views).

Experience migrating and supporting applications from on-prem infrastructure to cloud environments.
